JBP Technologies was established in January 1996 under the umbrella of the Jerusalem Software Incubator Inc.

JBP is engaged in research and development of starting and operating circuits for discharge lamps.

JBP consists of a group of highly motivated scientists and managers.

JBP is a privately owned company located at Herzliya, Israel.

The Technology

JBP has developed high efficiency Electronic Ballast for High Pressure Sodium (HPS) & Metal Halide (MH) lamps which are used for street and outdoors lighting. The electronic ballast can reduce the energy consumed by HPS & MH Lamps by up to 40% as well as increasing its working life and reducing maintenance costs.

The Electronic Ballast achieves these objectives by enabling dimming, increasing light intensity and by decreasing losses of energy during operations.

The Electronic Ballast also greatly improves the electrical net efficiency and net building cost by keeping a perfect power factor (P.F.1.0), eliminating the high peak current at start and being insensitive to voltage drops along the lines or during peak hours.

All JBP ballasts are digitally controlled.

JBP ballasts are ready for the future central lighting control systems and can communicate both directions - receive command and transmit status - via serial port and standard protocol.
